Full Moon On Friday The 13th Won’t Occur Again For 35 Years!


(PCM) Today, June 13th, 2014 just so happened to fall on a Friday this year and we have some news that makes today even eerier for all those superstitious folks out there!  Tonight will also be a full moon, which is such a rare occurrence that it will not happen again for another 35 years.

In fact the next time that a full moon will fall on a Friday the 13th will not happen again until the year 2049, August 13th to be exact. The last time a full moon fell on Friday the 13th was on October 13th, 2000. This phenomenon only occurs when all the variable are in exactly the right place meaning that the moon phase, the weekday and the day of the month must all coincide perfectly.

As long as weather is permitting tonight, there should be a fantastic view of the full moon on Friday evening. Be sure get out and catch a glimpse of this rare phenomenon if you can, as on average it will only happen about once every 20 years or so.
