Tween In Hong Kong Pulls Off A 4.6 Million Dollar Diamond Heist

Diamond-necklace1

(PCM) Authorities in Hong Kong are on the search for a 12 or 13 year old tween girl who allegedly stole a luxury diamond necklace worth approximately $4.6 million dollars. Just to give you an idea of the necklaces worth, the U.S. to Hong Kong dollars currency exchange is currently about $7.00, so it is definitely an incredibly high value item even here in the U.S.

The girl was in the store with three adults, who were also allegedly in on the heist, as they were able to distract the store employees by posing as big spenders as the girl reached into the front display case and pocketed the 117-carat diamond necklace.

Authorities are still trying to piece together information about how the girl was able to get into the locked display case, but it appears that she was able to swipe a key while the employees were distracted by the adults.

The young girl can be seen on store security footage calmly walking out of the mall with her hands stuffed in the pockets of her grey hooded sweatshirt. Thus far, no arrests have been made in this case, however the jewelry store has been beefed up with extra security since the heist while business is running like normal.
