(PCM) The Merrimack Police Department in New Hampshire have hilariously issued an arrest warrant for world-famous groundhog Punxutawny Phil for failing to warn them about just how bad this winter was going to be.
The police say they believe that Punxutawny Phil is hiding out in a warm toasty hole and they warned citizens that the groundhog should be considered armed and dangerous.
Back on Groundhog Day, Phil did see his shadow which means six more weeks of winter weather, however no one in the Northeast region of the country was prepared for the amount of snow that has been dumped in area in the past few weeks.
Since the Groundhog Day tradition began back in 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 102 times and according to several sources has an accuracy rating of about 80%. Currently two more major winter storms are lined up to hit the New England area on top of the six to seven feet of snow they are already attempting to dig out of this year.
