(PCM) We recently brought you the story about “Zombie Cat” who was hit by a car and buried by his owner after the cat was believed to be dead only to be spotted about five days later in a neighbors yard very much alive.
The cat had managed, despite some pretty serious injuries, to claw his way out of the grave and find his way back home. When the owner could not afford the medial bills for “Zombie Cat’s” treatment, he was taken to the Humane Society in Tampa, Florida for several life saving surgeries.
Now, it seem that the Humane Society has decided against releasing “Zombie Cat” back to his owner. They claim that after meeting with the owner that have discovered some suspicious circumstances surrounding the cats, whose real name is Bart’s burial.
The Humane Society did not go into details, but they said they had learned new information about Bart’s home environment and made the decision to not return Bart to the home, as that is what they feel would be in the best interest of the cat.
Bart’s owners claim that they have done nothing wrong and are prepared to fight for the return of their cat in court. The owner had previously set up a GoFundMe page asking for the public’s help in covering Bart’s medical expenses. The campaign generated about $7,000, however the Human Society claims that they have not received any of this money and that a private organization called Save-A-Pet Medical Fund were the ones paying for Bart’s medical treatment.
Something sounds a little fishy to us here … could the whole incident been a money scam? Either way, we think Bart’s owners have a little bit of explaining to do!
