(PCM) Table No. 5, a restaurant in Pakistan, is receiving a ton of backlash after they chose quite an offensive theme for their menu items. While the restaurant claims that they don’t officially pay tribute to violence against women or have any misogynistic beliefs, their menu appears to prove otherwise as they have named their sandwiches after several alleged abusers and rapists.
For example, there is the “Charly Sheane” which is a spicy red chicken with steak sauce, the “Kris Browne” a grilled beef with steak sauce, cheddar cheese and onions, and the “Myke Tieson” a tangy chicken with lime sauce, just to name a few!
Patrons of the restaurant are outraged, as the restaurant even created a series of memes for their advertising that chastise and express disappointment in women who don’t make sandwiches. Table No. 5 took to their Facebook page to address the criticism saying ” WE NEED TO CLARIFY SOMETHING! A lot of people have been calling us misogynists over the past few days. I guess we started off on the wrong foot. We don’t have anything against the ladies; in fact we’re grateful to them. It’s because they stopped making sandwiches that we got the opportunity to open up a sandwich joint in town. So thanks ladies!”
The restaurant now claims that they are in the process of redefining their menu in hopes to make it less offensive and it the hope that the new redesign will not leave such a bad taste in people’s mouths.
