(PCM) Weddings are known to have some rather bizarre guests sometimes, however we think that dressed to the nines llamas and alpacas really take the cake, but not everyone agrees! What is becoming a very popular service in Oregon is to have therapy llamas and alpacas as part of a couples wedding party.
Mtn Peaks Therapy Llamas & Alpacas, which is a non-profit animal therapy organization, has begun offering a new service called Wedding Llamas. They have Rojo the llama and Napoleon the alpaca attend local weddings and the pair have become a huge hit.
According to the Mtn Peaks Therapy Llamas & Alpacas website, “Our animals are ‘pros’ when it comes to parties and special events, always decorated to compliment, our llamas can easily handle all ages, and any size of crowd! More than just ‘entertainment,’ we provide a unique interactive experience for your guests, that most have never experienced before, and smiles that will last forever!”
Well, memorable is certainly one way to put it! The organization claims they already have over a dozen weddings booked for appearances with Rojo and Napoleon and the demand continues to grow. To cost to have one llama appear at your wedding is $200 and the cost for both is $300, however all proceeds go toward funding the organization’s Therapy and Education Program. Just think of it as having a unique experience and giving back at the same time!
In that case, we may be able to deal with a few unexpected guests on our big day and seriously, who wouldn’t fall in love with a llama in a suit! You can rent the llamas for a certain time period and most use them to entertain guests and as incredible photo opportunities as the pair are often adorably dressed up as the bride and groom!
