(PCM) A Mexican woman by the name of Leandra Becerra Lumbreras celebrated her 127th birthday recently making her the oldest living person in the world.
Lumbreras claims that she was born on August 31st, 1887, however she has lost her original birth certificate. Her grandson reveals that it may have been burned during the Mexican Revolution from 1910 to 1917.
An investigation into 20th century electoral documents was launched and Lumbreras was issued a new birth certificate back in 2009 once her birth year had been confirmed.
Lumbreras and her family attribute her long life to three things….eating chocolate, sleeping a lot and not being married. Glad to see her sense of humor is still very much in tact.
Lumbreras celebrated her big 127th birthday with her grandson’s family who reside in Zapopan in Western Mexico.
