Family Calls 911 After A 22-Pound Cat Traps Them In Their Bedroom

(PCM) I don’t think we could make this story up if we tried! A man recently called 911 for assistance after he and his family became trapped in their bedroom by their 22-pound cat.
According to the 911 call, the man claimed that the cat attacked the baby and then trapped him, his wife, the baby and the family dog in the bedroom and is incredibly hostile.
The man went on to say to the 911 dispatcher “He’s at our door; he’s charging us. When I leave this room to let the police in, I’m going to have to fight this cat.” The cat can be heard meowing throughout the length of the call.
The family initially tried to call animal services to take care of the problem, but when they could not reach anyone, they decided the best option was to call 911 for assistance.
The large Himalayan cat scratched the baby and when the man attempted to chase the cat away that was when the situation took a turn for the worse. Police arrived at the residence and were able to capture the cat with a snare. The family escaped the bedroom unharmed!
As of right now the family is still trying to decide what to do about keeping the cat and certainly need to be sure that it will be safe to have the cat around the baby. Currently the cat is being held in a local area animal shelter.
