(PCM) The incredibly rare and not often spotted “Asian Unicorn” scientifically known as Saola, was spotted for the first time in over 14 years on a trail camera in Vietnam.
The Saola is listed as one of the most threatened animals in the world and there are rumored to only be a few hundred of the mammals left alive in the world. A Saola is a very close relative to the cattle, however it very much resembles an antelope. The species was only just discovered about twenty years ago.
This new sighting gives researchers and scientists new hope for a revival of the species and satisfaction that their work in protecting the Saola from poachers and other enemies has been a success.
