(PCM) In an effort to gain the best times possible out of their runners, a Taiwanese marathon hired a woman to dress-up like the ghost from the horror film “The Grudge” to scare those competing in the race.
It was the hope of the marathon organizers that if the runners were frightened they would ultimately run faster. The “ghost” woman was told to wait in the woods near the race route and then occasionally pop out to startle them or begin to run behind them.
The woman claims that she was hired more for encouragement and less for scares, as she revealed she didn’t actually hide in the woods, but rather waited for them to encourage them to do their best.
Oddly enough the strategy appeared to work as it was reported that those competing in this marathon recorded their best times ever in the race. Do you blame them?
