(aMyth) Most UFO observations are misidentified conventional objects or natural phenomena, often an experimental aircraft, balloons, funky clouds, astronomical objects like meteors or nearby bright planets and the occasional hoax. UFO enthusiasts prefer the term ‘ETV’ to describe an Extra Terrestrial Vehicle. During World War II, pilots described them as ‘foo fighters.’
The term “UFO” was first used in 1952 by Cpt. Edward J. Ruppelt, who headed the Air Force’s ‘Project Blue Book’, the official U.S. Government investigation of UFOs. The often used term ‘flying saucer’ did not reflect the wide variety of sighting descriptions. Officially, they called the ‘you-foes’ although the common vernacular often calls them by the initials – U-F-O. Project Blue Book was officially closed in 1969. UFO’s have been the topics of films, both as frightening adventures, and in light, comical escapism. Are they here to help us, to guide us, or as the book says ‘To Serve Man*’?
In 2001: A Space Odyssey, they helped early man evolve. Or were the monoliths representing God? On The Day The Earth Stood Still, they were here to warn us of the potential danger we posed to both ourselves, and the rest of the universe.
In the classic short story, Random Sample, by T. P. Caravan, a chocolate-loving, yet demanding and mean young girl was observed and even interacted with an alien race, who decided that the human race deserved to be treated as she was treating them, and how they observed her stomping on and burning ants with her magnifying glass. (One hint: everybody’s chocolate melted as the alien carnage began)

When it stood still, it flamed up, and was about three yards square; when it ran, it was contracted into the figure of a swine: it ran as swift as an arrow towards Charlton [Charlestown], and so up and down [for] about two or three hours. The Answer: The sober Governor saw something that should not have existed at that time.
1878 DENISON, TEXAS
“From Mr. John Martin, a farmer who lives some six miles south of this city, we learn the following strange story: Tuesday morning while out hunting, his attention was directed to a dark object high up in the southern sky. The peculiar shape and velocity with which the object seemed to approach riveted his attention and he strained his eves to discover its character.” “When first noticed, it appeared to be about the size of an orange, which continued to grow in size. After gazing at it for some time, Mr. Martin became blind from staring, and left off viewing it for a time in order to rest his eyes. On resuming his view, the object was almost overhead and had increased considerably in size, and appeared to be going through space at wonderful speed.” -Denison Daily News, January 25, 1878

1897 DALLAS, TEXAS
“About 6 o’clock this morning the early risers of Aurora were astonished at the sudden appearance of the airship which has been sailing around the country. It was traveling due north and much nearer the earth than before. Evidently some of the machinery was out of order, for it was making a speed of only ten or twelve miles an hour, and gradually settling toward the earth. It sailed over the public square and when it reached the north part of town it collided with the tower of Judge Proctor’s windmill and went into pieces with a terrific explosion, scattering debris over several acres of ground, wrecking the windmill and water tank and destroying the judge’s flower garden.
The pilot of the ship is supposed to have been the only one aboard and, while his remains were badly disfigured, enough of the original has been picked up to show that he was not an inhabitant of this world.” – Dallas Morning News It was made into a movie “The Aurora Encounter” ( in 1986).

1947 ROSWELL INCIDENT
Things really started in the United States in 1947, with the ‘Roswell Incident’ in New Mexico and the press surrounding that particular adventure. The local press was very clear with what happened. http://www.rdrnews.com/. The debris was found by W.W. Brasal, a local rancher, and his family, on July 4, 1947. One later report that the debris consisted of bright wreckage made up of ‘rubber strips, tinfoil, a rather tough paper and sticks’ and that Brasal had tried to piece them together, unsuccessfully. Brasal had also stated that he had seen weather balloons before, but this did not resemble what he had seen before.

The Answer: Seems to me that there was an awful lot of changing stories and coverup – something odd obviously happened. W.W. Brasal found something in 1947, and the government had him change his story. If it was a government experiment, the explanation would have been much clearer on the first day the story broke. 1942 THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES
February 25, 1942, 2:25 a.m. the U.S. Army Central Command issued a direct order to mobilize anti-aircraft artillery batteries to a Los Angeles suburb hilltop in Culver City, California, few miles south of downtown Los Angeles, California. At 4:30 a.m. the U.S. Army was directed to commence firing on multiple aerial enemy targets officially referred to as “NonReferenceables.” This was before the term ‘UFO’ came into the culture. there were also reports of slow moving aircraft near san Francisco that night, headed south towards the City of angels.
The battle of Los Angeles where the U.S. military fought vehicles with a cylindrical shape were also said to be flying slow like a dirigible. headline read: GUNS BOMBARD SKY AS STRANGE PLANES BLACK OUT SOUTHLAND IN FIRST ‘RAID’ This also became a hit film in 2011, Battlefield: Los Angeles. The Answer: The 1942 Battle of Los Angeles was against air balloons or our own airships. We won. Had they been extraterrestrial, they would have won. There have been so many unexplained UFO appearances, and so many pictures and super-8 recordings there has to be something going on. On the other hand, with tens of millions of new HQ cameras available through our cell phones and digital cameras, why aren’t we seeing more HQ photos of UFOs?
THE MEN IN BLACK
Before the movies starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (1997, 2002, 2012), there was the comic book series written by Lowell Cunningham, illustrated by Sandy Carruthers, and published by Aircel Comics (1990). Before that there were, according to UFO conspiracy theorists, men dressed in black suits who claim to be government agents who would supress any information about things ‘they’ don’t think we should know about. This would include UFO’s, aliens, time travel, and the water-powered automobile.
John Keel, an expert in MIBs, has suggested that they could actually be alien in nature, nad have been interfering with (or possibly prodding) human progress for centuries. The Man In Black was often thought of as The Devil, or one of his henchmen in medival times. In more modern times, it has been thought that, if not govenment agents (or from AFSAC – Air Force Special Activities Center) they are in fact, alien beings or robots. They have a lot of futuristic technology, but have seemed confused by simple tools like forks and spoons, according to unnamed witnesses. UFO’s often get mentioned with Ancient Astronauts and even Time Travel.
