(PCM) Famous astronaut Buzz Aldrin hopped on his WhoSay account to let NASA and the rest of the world know that he is responsible for snapping the very first space selfie.
Aldrin was the second man to step foot on the moon back in 1969, however in 1996 he was able to snap a photo of himself floating in space with Earth at his back during the Gemini 12 Mission in 1966.
Aldrain shared the famous selfie on WhoSay with the following caption “@NASA I believe I get to claim the first EVA selfie from space.” We love the fact that he poked some fun as well. The term “EVA” stands for “extra-vehicular activity,” which is another term for a spacewalk.
Aldrin posted the space selfie in response to NASA featuring an image recently snapped by astronaut Steve Swanson during a spacewalk outside of the International Space Station.
